Harbor Base Inn - Newport

My room was clean with great water pressure. It was well-equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. The comfortable beds and adequate heat.

Everything was good, recommend!!

the hotel's location was reasonable, very close to shop as well as newport touristic places and commercials. reasonably large and updated units with a decent bathroom, coffee maker plus fridge, and the staff were accommodating.

It was updated, extremely spacious and with fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The location was convenient and perfect for me, super close to everything🙂❤

A great last-minute find

Staying at the Harbor Base Inn turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The clean room and working AC were nice.

The exterior appeared a bit worn, and the reception area lacked charm. It gave off a 'meh' first impression that I struggled to shake off.

The employees of the hotel were very very helpful. The venue's location was peaceful and comfy, adjacent to outskirts of Newport, Stop and Newport. I tried some drinks at bar Applebee's, located 25 minutes walk away.

cozy, cozy, cozy

I loved the cozy vibe of my room-it was spotlessly clean and so comfortable for a relaxing night. The water pressure in the shower was divine. Plus, being just a short distance from downtown meant easy access to all the fun without the congestion!

It was quiet. Probably because no one wants to stay there because it is a dump.

Ants crawling all over bathroom floor and coming out of the wall. Hair in bathroom and spiders and webs hanging from lamps that didn't work. Smelt and felt damp and musty. We slept with our sleeping bags on top of the bed and luckily had brought our own pillows because the pillows did not have covers and were old and brown.

The location was somewhat convenient to downtown Newport.

The room was dark and dingy. Furniture old and some pieces broken. No clock and no hairdryer .

Had a blast staying with friends! We loved visiting the International Tennis Hall of Fame and relaxing at the local beaches. The room was clean, and we enjoyed the available cable programming for downtime. Great location too, with lots to do nearby. Perfect spot for budget travelers!

Only downside was the unreliable WiFi, frustrating to connect online.

clean room with a convenient location

I was really surprised by the cleanliness of the room. The new vinyl flooring gave it a fresh feel that I appreciated greatly. Having dedicated parking, especially during busy hours.

the exterior could use some updates

It was casual. As soon as we got there the handle on the toilet broke but they came pretty quickly and repaired it. It was close to downtown with a short drive. Wouldn't want to walk though.

No clock in the room. Some stations on the tv had fuzzy noise and that was a little annoying.

Location was awesome! Price was great! Nice and quiet. Felt safe and secure.

Lights quit working. Could have felt cleaner, luckily we were too busy to spend much time in room. Definately needs some updating. But for what we were there for (military promotion), was okay.

We arrived at the Inn to find that one whole row of rooms had burnt down! Apparently there had been a fire in August in a room in which a man had been smoking a cigarette in bed - he died in the fire. The block was surrounded by "crime tape" and covered in black sheeting, which blew up in the wind and exposed the whole charred area. We wondered about smoke alarms! But as we were only there for a night we decided to stay. It took forever to get any hot water in the shower, and the toilet seat was broken, which made going to the loo at any time precarious, but more so in the middle of the night!
